 about

In 1979, I began art lessons at Fairfield Area High School (Pennsylvania) under the direction of Mr. Ron Linder. It was Ron's instruction and dedication as an educator that inspired me to experiment with different mediums such as pen and ink, pencil, watercolor and Collage. I have also worked with a laser technique called Holography. Throughout my high school years I was the recipient of many awards, including nineteen gold keys,  three scholarships and was featured in the 1981 edition of “America's Outstanding Names and Faces.”

In 1984, I graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College  with an Associates Degree in Art.  Throughout the years, my artwork has been showcased in many galleries and organizations. Some of these   include  The   Harrisburg   Art Association, The  Tangerine Gallery, Doshi Gallery, Strand Theater,  Whitaker Center, 10th Muse, Stained Glass Inn, Oyster Mill Play House, Jupi's Art Gallery and The Twin Brook Winery. In addition, I have been a resident artist at The Gallery at Walnut Place for seven years. Currently residing in New Cumberland Pennsylvania, I continue to exhibit my work locally.

As an artist over the past 30 years, I have experimented with several changes in the style of my work. The effects of maturity plus life's ever changing dynamics have brought me to my current level of creativity. The process of recycling old magazines into collages and finding vintage paper that is much thicker to handle the bleaching process, allows me freedom to manipulate the ink into the composition. While I have not been afforded the opportunity to be a full time artist, I have had the greatest pleasure in experimenting with my current collage process.  In masking specific areas and  bleaching over them, has added more complexity and another layer of visual appeal. Many have questioned if this style is a form of stained glass or tile.

“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
